Doing Business with the Government |
| |
The Central Contactor Registration (CCR) and Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) registration are required for U.S. vendors doing business with DoDDS-Pacific. Although not required for foreign vendors, it is highly encouraged.
The Central Contractor Registration (CCR) is the primary vendor database for the Department of Defense (DoD). The CCR collects, validates, stores and disseminates data in support of agency missions.
Vendors are required to complete an initial registration on the CCR website to provide basic information relevant to procurement and financial transactions. Vendors must then update or renew their registration annually to maintain an active status.
CCR validates the vendor's information and electronically shares the secure and encrypted data with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) to facilitate paperless payments through electronic funds transfer (EFT). EFT payments are now mandatory for all contract payments.
A Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number is required to register with CCR. The process to request a DUNS number is free of charge and can be done over the phone or online. Instructions can be found on the Dun & Bradstreet website. They have separate websites in English, Japanese and Hangul.
