1998-1999 Pacifica
The
Pacifica is a publication of news and events from
the Department of Defense Schools in the Pacific
Area.
Featured
are articles and photographs from schools in
Guam, Japan, Korea, and Okinawa that display
and celebrate some of the exciting activities
that have occurred since last fall.

JAPAN
Students
took part in an
annual October celebration
which
stressed book characters,
ethnic diversity, historical,
and artistic themes. |
OKINAWA A
visit to the Marine Corps Air
Station, Futenma. Students had
a great time touring the Air Flight
Control Tower, Radar Room,
and the F/A-18. |

KOREA
Learning
about safety was a real
treat for the whole school. Students
learned to stop, drop, and roll, and
how to call the Fire Department in
case of an emergency. |
OKINAWA
Children
and faculty dressed as The
Cat in the Hat to coincide with the theme of the Schools Christmas
parade float. One child
from each classroom was
selected to represent the
school on the float. |
