This has been a pivotal year for everyone associated with the Department of Defense Dependents Schools Pacific. Without question we have made dramatic and definitive progress toward achieving the goals of the 2001-2006 DoDEA Community Strategic Plan (CSP). As we pass the midpoint in our implementation of our five-year strategic plan, we can look back with pride on our accomplishments, reflect upon the significant strides we have made this year, and look ahead to the future with confidence.

The achievements of our students continue to demonstrate that we are doing a lot of things right. I am so proud of their academic performance and the success of our graduates. I am equally proud of your efforts to ensure that in DoDDS Pacific we are providing our children with a top-notch education where standards-based schools, collaboration and shared leadership, differentiated instruction, state of the art technology, research-based decisions, accountability, effective communications, and increased stakeholder involvement illustrate our aspirations for them.

Within our school communities, we enjoy tremendous support from parents and from our military partners. Our schools boast a cadre of exceptionally talented administrators, teachers and support staff dedicated to the education of our children. All of you play a critical role in the lives of our young people.

I thank you all for your hard work and your tireless efforts in helping us achieve our mission. I can say with great confidence that your steadfast contributions of time and energy are resulting in exemplary educational programs that inspire and prepare all students for future success. I see this in our schools and our classrooms. Your commitment has been extraordinary; your efforts, profound.

I wish you the best as you embark on your well-deserved summer break. For those of you in transition, I would like to extend my best wishes. For those of you returning to DoDDS Pacific next school year, I look forward to working with you and pledge to you my continued support for your work. Together we can ensure that our communities have exceptional schools and successful students.
