the holiday season nears, we can take pride
in knowing that in DoDDS Pacific we have
contributed in our own special way to a
more hopeful future for America and for
the nations around the world. Each day
throughout the school year, we have the
opportunity to give our children the knowledge
and understanding that will help them develop
into caring and responsible citizens. With
your dedicated support, our children are
able to understand more about the diverse
world in which they live, each other's
similarities and differences, the qualities
needed to be good citizens in a global
environment, and the importance of advancing
peace and safety throughout the world.
During this special time, I hope you will take a moment to reflect on the extraordinary
contributions you have made in support of our students and our mission. The education
you give our children is truly a gift. It is a gift that strengthens families,
communities, and our nation, and leads to common understandings, tolerance, and
peace among people.
It is with deep gratitude that I express my heartfelt appreciation to you for
your tireless efforts in helping each child reach the highest potential. I also
want to thank you for the extraordinary partnerships you have built with our
students, parents and community members, and for working together to ensure success
for all students and the attainment of our Community Strategic Plan goals.
As you embark on your well-deserved recess, please take a moment to give thanks
for the selfless sacrifices of the many servicemen and women who will remain
on duty and be ever so vigilant throughout the holiday season. Although they
may be far from home, they remain close in our hearts. Their service is making
it possible for all of us to continue to enjoy our freedom.
I wish each of you a safe and happy holiday season full of wonderful memories
of family and friends.
