A Message from the Director, DoDDS Pacific
"Make a World of Difference"
|
Many
of us in the Department of Defense Education
Activity (DoDEA) have become familiar with
the phrase “Making a Difference” as
it pertains to our DoDEA Community Strategic
Plan and enriching the educational lives
of our children. This week I’d like
to focus on a very similar phrase, “Make
a World of Difference,” because it
is the theme for the 2003 Combined Federal
Campaign-Overseas (CFC-O), and emphasizes
the fact that with our individual contributions
we can all make a difference in our communities
throughout the world.
The Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas has
officially begun and is an opportunity for
U.S. Government personnel serving overseas,
both service members and civilians, to help
those in need.
Last year, the CFC-O raised more than $11.2
million dollars for the participating organizations,
which included our military Family Support & Youth
Programs (FSYP). This was a result of the
generosity of thousands of military and civilian
contributors. The Department of Defense Dependents
Schools (DoDDS) Pacific contributors have
also been very generous in past campaigns.
The CFC-O provides everyone the opportunity
to assist people and programs, as well as
to personalize contributions by designating
one or several of the 1400 national and international
organizations, agencies, and federations.
I encourage all of you to contribute to this
worthwhile cause. Every dollar helps. With
your help, I am confident that we will Make
a World of Difference to those charitable
organizations that serve people in need.
