A Message from the Director, DoDDS Pacific
The Department of Defense Education Activity Community Strategic Plan
|
As
we begin School Year 2003–2004, we will continue
our efforts
to achieve the goals of the 2001–2006
Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA)
Community
Strategic Plan (CSP). The CSP ensures that
we accomplish our mission to “provide
in military communities worldwide, exemplary
educational programs that inspire and prepare
all students for success in a global environment.”
Goal 1, Highest Student Achievement, is the
cornerstone of the CSP. It will ensure that
all students demonstrate mastery of rigorous
standards as determined through a variety of
performance-based assessments. As a result
of Goal 1, we are committed to a standards-based
curriculum that challenges all students and
provides effective support structures to prepare
them for continuous learning and productive
citizenship. Within the schools, the school
improvement process is our means to accomplishing
this end.
Goals 2, 3 and 4 are crucial to our attainment
of Goal 1. Goal 2, Performance Driven Management
Systems, focuses on how we allocate our resources,
maintain or improve our facilities and equipment,
and provide a safe and secure environment for
students and staff. Goal 3, Motivated, High
Performing Work Force, addresses our personnel
management practices and staff development
opportunities for administrators, educators,
and support personnel. Initiatives related
to this goal include focused teacher recruitment,
mentoring programs, and continuous professional
growth and development for administrators and
teachers. Goal 4, Network of Partnerships Promoting
Achievement, centers on developing and maintaining
partnerships and ensuring two-way communication
within school communities. The goal stresses
the involvement of all stakeholders in activities
that enhance and improve the delivery of educational
programs and support services within DoDDS
Pacific.
The 2001–2006 DoDEA Community Strategic Plan
serves as our springboard for educational,
funding, and organizational improvements. Most
importantly, it has been the catalyst for designing
our initiatives to ensure that our students
have access to educational programs and services
that support high achievement. Nancy
