Far East Model United Nations / SY 2008-2009 |
|
One hundred and twenty students met at Kinnick High School on Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan, from 2-4 March 2009 for the Far East Model United Nations (MUN). Students role-played as diplomats to the United Nations from countries they chose early in the school year. Ten “diplomats” from each school served on various committees to discuss global topics they had researched. A major part of MUN involved drafting resolutions; then negotiating and compromising on the finer points until countries could pass the revised resolution. Next year's MUN will be hosted again by Kinnick HS.
