2002 Assistant Principals' Conference |
The 15th annual Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS) Pacific Assistant Principals Conference was held January 28 February 1, 2002, at the New Sanno Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. The conference theme, Making A Difference: Leading the Standards-based School, focused on the importance of leaders working with our entire school community to ensure students receive the high quality education they need for future success. The Guam High School Jazz Band provided morning entertainment to more than 80 participants. Their performance at this event was an opportunity to recognize and applaud the talents and achievements of our students.

This conference mirrored the Principals Conference and provided the same professional development related to school initiatives and education reform that will be implemented under the new 20012006 Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Community Strategic Plan (CSP).This conference mirrored the Principals Conference and provided the same professional development related to school initiatives and education reform that will be implemented under the new 20012006 Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Community Strategic Plan (CSP).
A distinctive content element of the conference was to offer daily health and wellness sessions led by an international motivational trainer, who teaches a unique wellness strategy that incorporates vital principles from yoga, meditation, martial arts, breathing, and energy therapy. A critical component to busy leaders lives is looking at their own level of wellness to enable them to maximize their productivity and resourcefulness. According to him, Only progressive employers are moving in this direction. Daily sessions on health and wellness were planned for conference participants. |
