Department of Department of Defense Education Activity
(DoDEA) Pacific adheres to the
Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) goal that special education
programs ensure students with disabilities have opportunities to acquire
lifelong skills by providing a free appropriate public education in compliance
with the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and DoD Instruction 1342.12. We believe that all children can learn, have equal access to a high quality education, and have the opportunity to be challenged to perform at higher levels of achievement.
It is the policy of DoDEA and DoDEA Pacific that ALL students shall be provided an appropriate education in schools where placement and service decisions are based on the individual needs of the student, in the least restrictive environment, and in accordance with the system’s guiding principles. DoDEA Pacific educators share the responsibility of educating ALL children through collaborative efforts and through implementation of the guiding principles of the DoDEA Community Strategic Plan.
