Autism Consultant Services
The Autism Consultants provide services for students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). These disorders include: Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Asperger Syndrome, Autism, Rhett Syndrome, and Fragile X Syndrome. The consultants are not direct service providers to students with IEPs but rather facilitators and trainers for the parents, regular and special educators, administrators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers working with students in the autism spectrum.
The consultative services include:

1. |
Training service providers in developing “child-centered” plans for programming and providing training on methods and techniques to assess student progress. |
2.

Conducting on site staff assistance visits to schools to advise administrators, regular and special education teachers, and other on methods and techniques for the provision of services to children in the autism spectrum.

3.
|
Meeting with EDIS teams, child development centers, and parents and family members offering information on the autism spectrum. |
