Many high and low-tech devices are available to assist students with disabilities with daily living tasks, communication, education, work, and recreation. Examples are: Velcro, adapted clothing and toys, computers, seating systems, augmentative communication devices, special switches, assisted listening devices, visual aids, memory prosthetics, and thousands of other commercially available or adapted items. Assistive Technology Consultants in each district support students with disabilities and help with selecting, acquiring, and using assistive technology.
