| Communications and Visual Information |
Within
the Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS)
Pacific Director's Office, communications activities
include gathering, producing, and distributing communications
products that support student needs; address the
educational interest of the school community; build
community trust in the educational activities of
the agency; and focus on the goals of the Community
Strategic Plan. Training,
support, and guidance is provided to districts and
schools in an effort to develop and implement a
multimedia communication operation and build positive
community relations.
The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA)
Community
Strategic Plan Goal 4 states Promoting Student Development through Partnerships and Communication; Every level of DoDEA will develop, promote, and maintain partnerships and communications to enhance student development. Outcome B: Communication states: All schools, districts, areas, and headquarters will effectively communicate using a planned, systematic approach.

Professional development is offered through Pacific-wide conferences and school complex visits.
The communications specialist works closely with the media including the Pacific theater installation public affairs offices, Pacific Stars and Stripes, and American Forces Network (news, radio, television).
