The
Pacific Theater Education Council (PTEC) consists
of representatives from the Pacific Command, U.S.
Forces Korea, U.S. Forces Japan, and educational
representatives from component commands. Prior to
their annual meeting, PTEC completes school visitations in order to view successful
educational programs and make recommendations to
the Director, Department of Defense Education Activity
(DoDEA), and to the Director, Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Pacific, for improving
dependents’ education overseas.
The PTEC serves a vital role in support of Department of Defense dependents’ education
in the Pacific. The PTEC members also serve as standing members of the DoDEA Pacific Area Advisory Council.
The PTEC has visited
DoDEA Pacific schools in the area of Yokosuka, Japan,
including Sullivans and Ikego Elementary Schools,
Yokosuka Middle School, and Kinnick High School.
